President Donald Trump and North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un have met for the first time on Tuesday morning local time in Singapore, which was Monday evening in the United States.
This was the first time a sitting U.S. President and North Korean leader have met in person.

The two security teams prepared the motorcades in heavily watched fashion and headed to the Capella Hotel on Sentosa Island in Singapore.
The two leaders first met privately, with only translators in the room.

Then, after their private meeting, the two are began the expanded bilateral meeting and working lunch. U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was at the bilateral meeting, and so were other U.S. and North Korean officials.
The President is expected to depart Singapore earlier than expected, around 8 p.m. Tuesday local time, and he is likely to give a press conference before leaving.
Trump met with Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong earlier on Monday.

The President is expected to have a bilateral meeting and working lunch with Kim after a one-on-one meeting first thing Tuesday. Trump is then expected to have a presser before departing Singapore at 8 p.m. on Tuesday there, or 8 a.m. EST.

The White House announced the new schedule on Monday, which has the President leaving Singapore earlier than expected after discussions “have moved more quickly than expected.”
