President Donald Trump and North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un had their much-anticipated meeting for the first time on Tuesday in Singapore.
After more than four hours of talks, Trump and Kim held a press conference, and the President announced that the two nations had come to an agreement.
Trump said the North Korean dictator “reaffirmed” his commitment to denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
“We’re ready to write a new chapter between our nations,” the President said.
The President has “developed a very special bond” with Kim, he also said.
Since their meeting – the first time a sitting U.S. President and a North Korean leader have met in person – there have been numerous photos and videos posted from the historic summit.

State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said Trump was meeting with his national security team and greeting Embassy colleagues on Monday.
