In a 3-hour open-poll of our American Military News readers during the first half of the 2022 annual Army/Navy football game, we asked our readers if they were rooting for Army or Navy in this year’s matchup.
With Liz George and Ryan Morgan reporting from the sidelines of the game for the second year in a row, we closed the poll at half-time.
This year has seen plenty of commentary on this year’s custom uniforms and more.
Both sides’ made countless hype videos (see a bunch here).
Army made a short 10 minute action movie.
Here are Navy’s custom uniforms.
Here are Army’s custom uniforms.
Navy dropped leaflets from a plane on West Point’s campus saying “Beat Army.”
Army even did one video re-enacting the Titanic scene where Rose lets Jack sink in the water despite there clearly being enough room on the driftwood for both of them.
In Army’s version, they also let Navy sink – watch it here.
As for the results: In 3 hours, we had 3,410 votes from our amazing readers telling us who they were rooting for.
Army edged Navy out 51.6% to 48.4%.
Army led the votes with a total of 1,758 to Navy’s 1,652.
So there you have it folks. AMN readers are essentially split right down the middle in their branch loyalty.
We get emails every day from our readers and there are so many active duty service members, veterans and military families who are part of our community and we thank them and everyone who’s part of the military community, for their service.
Thanks for the playful and fun responses.
