The Washington State Patrol confirmed that two individuals were injured Saturday after a U.S. military Humvee towing a trailer “drifted” off Interstate 90, plunged roughly 30 feet over a retaining wall, and crashed onto the street below in Bellevue, Washington.
According to Fox News, the Humvee crash took place on the eastbound side of Interstate 90 in Washington when the military vehicle suddenly “drifted right” and plunged off the highway. The outlet noted that the Humvee ultimately landed on Southeast 38th Street after plunging over a retaining wall.
In a Saturday post on X, formerly Twitter, Washington State Patrol Trooper Rick Johnson, a public information officer for Washington State Patrol District 2, shared pictures of the Humvee military vehicle after the crash.
“This happened just a bit ago,” Johnson tweeted. “This military vehicle pulling a trailer was on EB 90, drifted right, went off the roadway, and crashed over the wall into SE 38th St in the Eastgate area of Bellevue. Two minor injuries and no other vehicles involved.”
Johnson told Fox News that the Humvee Tonic Trailer was “traveling eastbound on Interstate 90 and drifted right for some reason.” He added, “We don’t really know (the) reason, and (it) left the freeway across like a little grass area and then went over a wall … down onto one of the surface streets below.”
Johnson told Fox News that the Humvee was “pretty damaged” after plunging 30 feet and crashing onto the road below.
