Former President Donald Trump suggested Thursday that President Joe Biden should be drug tested prior to any 2024 presidential debates between the two political rivals. The former president also claimed Biden was “higher than a kite” at the beginning of his recent State of the Union address.

During a Thursday interview, Hugh Hewitt, a radio host and the former director of the United States Office of Personnel Management, asked Trump about his invitation to debate Biden “anywhere” and “anytime.”

Asked if he thought Biden would agree to any debates, Trump said, “I don’t think so, but I hope he does.”

“I think what happened is you know that white stuff that they happened to find, which happened to be cocaine in the White House, I don’t know, I think something’s going on there, because I watched this State of the Union, and he was all jacked up at the beginning,” Trump added. “By the end, he was fading fast. There’s something going on there. I want to debate. And I think debates, with him, at least, should be drug tested. I want a drug test.”

When Hewitt asked the former president if he was suggesting that Biden was using cocaine, Trump said, “I don’t know what he’s using.” The former president added that Biden was “higher than a kite” during last month’s State of the Union address.

Criticizing Biden’s State of the Union address, Trump said it was the “wort address” he had ever seen. The former president claimed that it was not a normal State of the Union address because Biden “doesn’t represent us properly.”

Turning again to Biden’s rare energetic appearance at the State of the Union, Trump told Hewitt, “Obviously, he’s being helped some way because most of the time, he looks like he’s falling asleep, and all of a sudden he walked up there and did a poor job, but he was all jacked up.”

Trump’s comments come after cocaine was discovered in a White House locker last July. The discovery of a white powder inside the White House led to an evacuation of the West Wing and multiple street closings around the White House before the substance was identified as cocaine. The cocaine incident resulted in an 11-day Secret Service investigation; however, the investigation was quickly closed due to a “lack of evidence.”
