The Trump-ordered death of top Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani has brought mixed reactions – and an apology to Iran.
Actress Rose McGowan lashed out at Trump at Twitter and followed it up with a message to Iran, saying: “Dear Iran, The USA has disrespected your country, your flag, your people. 52% of us humbly apologize. We want peace with your nation. We are being held hostage by a terrorist regime. We do not know how to escape. Please do not kill us.”

Minutes later, McGowan took aim at Trump, saying, “Thanks a lot, dickhead @realDonaldTrump.”

After receiving criticism and refusing requests to remove her post, McGowan conceded that Soleimani was “evil,” but said the U.S. must apologize to Iran.
“Of course #Soleimani was an evil evil man who did evil evil things. But that at this moment is not the fucking point. The United States is morally corrupt and acts illegally. It is only logical to appeal to Iran’s pride by apologizing. I’m taking one for the team. #TeamStayAlive,” McGowan tweeted.

One user expressed shock that McGowan – an outspoken feminist and purveyor of the #MeToo movement – would speak favorably of Iran. McGowan, however, denied she was supporting Iran.
“I do not side with Iran, but I most definitely do not side with the USA,” she said.

Hours later, McGowan admitted she “freaked out” and simply does not want more U.S. troops killed in war.
“Ok, so I freaked out because we may have any impending war. Sometimes it’s okay to freak out on those in power. It’s our right. That is what so many Brave soldiers have fought for. That is democracy. I do not want any more American soldiers killed. That’s it,” she tweeted.

McGowan and other critics of President Trump’s decision to order the airstrike have expressed concerns that a war will ensue over the action, especially after Iran vowed to retaliate with “severe revenge.”
Trump said on Friday that the airstrike was ordered because the U.S. had evidence that Soleimani was planning attacks on Americans.
He said the actions stopped a war, and did not start one. He also vowed to find and eliminate any terrorist that brings harm to Americans.
