At least 15 were shot and wounded and another six were shot and killed over the weekend in Chicago.
According to the Chicago Sun Times, the first fatal shooting occurred Saturday around 8:30 pm when a man walked up to a 17-year-old teenager and shot him the chest multiple times. The teen was reported dead at the scene, according to the report.
The last fatal shooting occurred around 2:40 pm on Sunday when someone drove up in a vehicle and shot 18-year-old Jamari Richmond while he was playing basketball, according to the report. Richmond was shot in the head and pronounced dead at a local hospital, the Chicago Sun Times reported.
An additional four people were killed and more than 15 people were wounded as a result of shootings, according to the report.
By the end of April, gun-controlled Chicago had seen more than 1,000 shooting victims.
Last year, roughly 4,400 people were shot and nearly 800 people were killed in the city.
