The Inland Regional Center in California where the gunmen shot and killed 14 people and injured another 14 people is close to two major highways that go north/south (the 215) and east/west (the 10) – allowing easy access out of the area.
According to Google Maps and its Waze technology, which also accounts for traffic speed, accidents along routes, slow traffic areas and more:
- Los Angeles is only 1.5 hours away
- Tijuana, Mexico is 2.5 hours away
The gunmen could also have headed towards Las Vegas and the midwest or north to northern California, the pacific northwest or Canada.
The police do not seem to have many details, at least publicly, and authorities have just finished up searching the buildings where the shooting occurred.
Look at these maps that we made to highlight the highways and locations.
There have been more and more reports of Mexican cross-border activity this year. No one would be surprised if the gunmen have switched vehicles twice by now and are already in Mexico.
Tell us in the comments where you think they could be going.
