Members of the United States Border Patrol’s El Paso Sector, honored the men and women who lost their lives while protecting the Nation, in a special commemorative ceremony at the National Border Patrol Museum that streamed Thursday via YouTube.

U.S. Border Patrol El Paso Sector Chief Patrol Agent Gloria I. Chavez, and Sector leadership were on hand to pay tribute, as well as to offer inspiration and words of comfort to the family members of the fallen agents.

Since its inception on May 28, 1924, the U.S. Border Patrol has seen the passing of 130 agents in the line of duty. During the ceremony, the fallen agent names were read aloud followed by the ringing of a somber bell toll, the 21-Gun Salute and Taps, all performed by the El Paso Sector Honor Guard.

A helicopter fly-over from U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office of Air & Marine was also conducted followed by the clicking hooves of a riderless horse salute. The ceremony concluded with the performance of the Last Call broadcasted via a border patrol vehicle’s intercom system.
