WARWICK, RI – The 115th Military Police Company of the Rhode Island National Guard has deployed as part of a scheduled rotation of deployments overseas.

They will be conducting routine military police missions in support of Operation Spartan Shield throughout southwest Asia.

The 115th Military Police Company was formed in 1951 and is based at Camp Fogarty, East Greenwich, RI. The 115th has a notable history of service from providing domestic support during natural disasters to mobilizations overseas. During their 2003 deployment to support the Global War on Terror, the 115th performed almost 1600 missions during the 12-month deployment. Missions included seizure of stolen property, criminal arrest, and security and seizure of enemy weapons caches.

“America’s citizen soldiers have always answered our nation’s call to duty,” said Lieutenant Colonel Jeffrey Floyd, Commander of the 118th Military Police Battalion. “That legacy of service has made our nation and the world a safer place. Today the 115th Military Police Company begins another chapter in that legacy.”
