A video shows a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper firing shots at a moving vehicle after it allegedly rammed into a law enforcement vehicle during a “pursuit” that was “initiated” by the Texas Department of Public Safety and aided by U.S. Border Patrol agents on Saturday.

The video, which was shared on X, formerly Twitter, shows a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper firing multiple shots at the front right tire of a white SUV as it attempted to drive away from a law enforcement vehicle.

Shortly after the shots were fired, the white SUV was recorded veering toward the right of the road in front of a Border Patrol vehicle. The video, which appears to have been recorded by a local resident in the Texas neighborhood, features a woman’s voice repeatedly saying, “They got away.”

In a statement to The Post Millennial, a Customs and Border Patrol spokesman said, “On January 31, 2026, at approximately 12:35 p.m., Border Patrol agents in Laredo assisted the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) with a pursuit DPS initiated. That pursuit resulted in shots fired by DPS Troopers near the intersection of Doner Road and Big Bend Boulevard in Laredo, Texas.”

The Post Millennial reported that the state law enforcement official’s attempt to shoot one of the vehicle’s tires came shortly after the white SUV rammed into a law enforcement vehicle.

Saturday’s incident follows continued protests against President Donald Trump’s administration’s ongoing deportation efforts led by Border Patrol and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials across the country. Anti-ICE activists have repeatedly attempted to obstruct federal operations following the fatal Border Patrol shooting of Alex Pretti and the fatal ICE shooting of Renee Good in Minneapolis, Minnesota, last month.
