Federal law enforcement officials have confirmed that a riot suspect was fatally shot by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer on Wednesday after she “weaponized her vehicle” and tried to “run over law enforcement officers” in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
In a statement on X, formerly Twitter, the Department of Homeland Security wrote, “Today, ICE officers in Minneapolis were conducting targeted operations when rioters began blocking ICE officers and one of these violent rioters weaponized her vehicle, attempting to run over our law enforcement officers in an attempt to kill them—an act of domestic terrorism.”
“An ICE officer, fearing for his life, the lives of his fellow law enforcement and the safety of the public, fired defensive shots,” the Department of Homeland Security added. “He used his training and saved his own life and that of his fellow officers.”
The Department of Homeland Security confirmed that the female riot suspect was confirmed deceased following the shooting and that the ICE officers injured in Wednesday’s incident are expected to fully recover.
In a statement obtained by Fox 9, Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem described the riot suspect’s weaponization of her vehicle against ICE agents as an “act of domestic terrorism.”

Fox 9 reported that a video of Wednesday’s incident shows a woman in a Honda Pilot SUV appearing to block a road in front of ICE agents in Minneapolis. In the video, ICE agents can be seen exiting their vehicle and approaching the woman’s vehicle in an attempt to arrest the woman.
However, as the ICE agents approached the vehicle, the suspect backed up and pulled her vehicle forward. An ICE agent in front of the vehicle can be heard firing multiple shots toward the vehicle while attempting to avoid the moving vehicle. After the shots were fired, the suspect’s vehicle crashed into a parked car.
President Donald Trump shared a different video clip of Wednesday’s incident in a post on Truth Social.
“I have just viewed the clip of the event which took place in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is a horrible thing to watch,” Trump wrote, “The woman screaming was, obviously, a professional agitator, and the woman driving the car was very disorderly, obstructing and resisting, who then violently, willfully, and viciously ran over the ICE Officer, who seems to have shot her in self defense.”
“Based on the attached clip, it is hard to believe he is alive, but is now recovering in the hospital,” Trump added. “The situation is being studied, in its entirety, but the reason these incidents are happening is because the Radical Left is threatening, assaulting, and targeting our Law Enforcement Officers and ICE Agents on a daily basis. They are just trying to do the job of MAKING AMERICA SAFE. We need to stand by and protect our Law Enforcement Officers from this Radical Left Movement of Violence and Hate!”
