President Donald Trump warned Iran that the U.S. military could launch a “far worse” attack against the Middle Eastern nation if it refuses to “make a deal” regarding its nuclear program. The president’s threat comes as a “massive armada” is currently heading toward the Middle East.

In a Truth Social statement on Wednesday, Trump warned, “A massive Armada is heading to Iran. It is moving quickly, with great power, enthusiasm, and purpose. It is a larger fleet, headed by the great Aircraft Carrier Abraham Lincoln, than that sent to Venezuela.”

Trump explained that the U.S. armada is “ready, willing and able to rapidly fulfill its mission, with speed and violence” and encouraged Iran to “come to the table” to negotiate a “fair and equitable” deal regarding its nuclear program. The president emphasized that Iran cannot pursue nuclear weapon and warned that “time is running out” for the country to make a deal.

“As I told Iran once before, MAKE A DEAL! They didn’t, and there was ‘Operation Midnight Hammer,’ a major destruction of Iran,” Trump added. “The next attack will be far worse! Don’t make that happen again.”

During the president’s 10th cabinet meeting on Thursday, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth explained that Iran has “options” to make a deal and emphasized that the U.S. military is prepared for “whatever” Trump decides to do.

“They have all the options to make a deal. They should not pursue nuclear capabilities,” Hegseth said. “We will be prepared to deliver whatever this president expects of the War Department.”

In response to Trump’s threat on Wednesday, Iran’s Mission to the United Nations released a statement on social media, saying, “Last time the U.S. blundered into wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, it squandered over $7 trillion and lost more than 7,000 American lives. Iran stands ready for dialogue based on mutual respect and interests—BUT IF PUSHED, IT WILL DEFEND ITSELF AND RESPOND LIKE NEVER BEFORE!”

CBS News reported that Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari, the chief of staff and deputy coordinator for the Islamic Republic of Iran Army, warned that Iran is “always ready to confront any threat.” Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi suggested that a U.S. military strike could lead to “instability” in the Middle East.

“Last night, I spoke with the Foreign Minister of Qatar,” Araghichi said. “The prevailing view across the region is that any military threat, given the nature of the U.S. presence here, would lead to instability throughout the entire region.”
