A new report claims that President Donald Trump has privately complained to his aides in recent weeks regarding Attorney General Pam Bondi’s leadership of the U.S. Justice Department.
The Wall Street Journal reported that anonymous Trump administration officials and sources familiar with the president’s complaints told the outlet that Trump has privately criticized Bondi as “weak” and as an “ineffective enforcer” of his administration’s agenda.
Sources told The Wall Street Journal that Trump is frustrated by the attorney general’s inability to successfully prosecute Democratic New York Attorney General Letitia James, former Federal Bureau of Investigation Director James Comey, and other individuals.
The sources told The Wall Street Journal that the president recently discussed the possibility of appointing special counsels at the Justice Department to address what he considers as a slow pace of progress at the department. The anonymous source also claimed that Trump has expressed complaints directly to Bondi regarding his current issues with the Justice Department.

Steve Bannon, who formerly worked as the chief strategist for the White House under Trump’s first administration, told The Wall Street Journal that Bondi is currently “bleeding support from her and President Trump’s most loyal troops.” The former White House strategist added, “Folks are desperate for action and just haven’t seen it.”
In response to The Wall Street Journal’s report, Trump issued a statement signaling his continued support for Bondi.
“Pam is doing an excellent job. She has been my friend for many years,” the president told The Wall Street Journal. “Tremendous progress is being made against radical left lunatics who are good at only one thing, cheating in elections and the crimes they commit.”
White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles explained that Bondi has been her friend “for decades” and described the attorney general as “incredibly talented, smart and hardworking.” “The Trump Administration is fortunate to have her at the helm of the justice department,” Wiles said.
