A police body camera video shows law enforcement officials arresting a teenager in Oklahoma who was accused of violently raping and assaulting multiple high school girls as a 17-year-old.
According to Fox News, 18-year-old Jesse Butler was arrested last year at the age of 17. The teenager ultimately pleaded no contest to multiple felony charges, including assault by strangulation, sexual battery, and first-degree rape.
A police affidavit obtained by Fox News shows that one of Butler’s victims claimed she was repeatedly raped and was strangled if she tried to refuse. A doctor reportedly warned that she would have died if Butler had strangled her for just seconds longer during one violent incident.
While Butler was sentenced to 78 years in prison, his prison sentence was suspended due to Oklahoma’s youthful offender statute, according to Fox News. The outlet noted that Butler is under supervision by the Office of Juvenile Affairs until he turns 19 and is required to complete over 100 hours of community service, therapy, weekly counseling, is required to follow a curfew, and is not allowed to use social media.
A viral body camera video shared on X, formerly Twitter, by Collin Rugg, co-owner of Trending Politics, shows Butler being arrested at his home in Stillwater, Oklahoma. In the video, a police officer can be heard explaining the process of the arrest.

“Yeah, so we’re here, we’re obviously going to place you under arrest, there’s a warrant for your arrest,” a police officer told Butler. “We’re going to take you to the jail. I told your mom that she can contact a bondsman, and you shouldn’t be there very long. But there just is a process for paperwork and stuff.”
The officer added, “Right now, you do have to come with us, and I do have to put you in handcuffs, so turn around for me.”
In response to the officer’s instructions, Butler’s mother can heard asking, “You have to put him in handcuffs?” As law enforcement officials handcuffed the 18-year-old, Butler’s mother assured him, saying, “I’ll get you out. Stay silent. Rick knows about this, Candy’s on this, Dad’s on his way. We’re coming to get you, okay? Stay strong, okay? Say your prayers.”
As Butler was escorted away by law enforcement officials, a police officer told Butler’s mother that he was being taken into custody at the Stillwater Police Department. At the end of the video, Butler’s mother can be heard claiming that his arrest was an “awful experience for a child.” She also told her son that she would see him “in a bit.”
