A new poll released on Wednesday shows that the majority of voters in the state of Tennessee support President Donald Trump’s deployment of the National Guard to crack down on crime in Memphis.

The Beacon Center of Tennessee released a poll on Wednesday that shows 63 percent of Tennessee voters approve of the president’s decision to deploy National Guard troops to Memphis, while only 33 percent of Tennessee voters disapprove of Trump’s decision. The poll found that while the majority of Republicans support the deployment of the National Guard to Memphis, most Democrats oppose the deployment ordered by the Trump administration.

Last week, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi announced that the Trump administration’s “surge” in Memphis has led to more than 1,700 arrests, including 126 gang members. After just one month of the Trump administration’s National Guard deployment in Memphis, Bondi said the “surge” is demonstrating that “it’s possible to make American cities safe again.”

In a recent statement to Fox News, Bondi said, “Tolerating crime is a choice. Under President Trump, we choose law and order: residents of our cities do not have to live in fear of violent crime. Our federal surge into Memphis has put gang members behind bars, rescued dozens of children, and proven that collaboration between federal and local law enforcement can quickly make American cities safe again. I am grateful to all of our partners, especially Memphis leadership, for working closely alongside our agents.”

The Beacon Center of Tennessee’s recent poll also asked Tennessee voters whether they had a favorable or unfavorable view of socialism. The poll, which involved 1,200 registered voters, was conducted from October 26 to October 29, just days before Democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani won the New York City mayoral election.

Out of 336 Democrat voters surveyed, 54 percent of voters said they had a positive view of socialism, while 31 percent said they had a negative view. The Beacon Center for Tennessee noted that 56 percent of all voters surveyed expressed a negative view of socialism, while 32 percent expressed a favorable view.

In a statement obtained by The Daily Wire, Mark Cunningham, a senior fellow for public opinion at the Beacon Center of Tennessee, said, “The favorability of socialism among Democrats is notable, and it will likely influence how Democratic candidates run to the Left in contested primaries, but also could spell doom for the party in general elections if the public’s view on socialism stays the same.”
