President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that both Israel and Hamas agreed to the first phase of a historic peace plan, which will include the release of the remaining Israeli hostages held captive by Hamas and the withdrawal of Israeli troops to an “agreed upon line” in Gaza.

Announcing the historic peace deal in a post Wednesday evening on Truth Social, Trump said, “I am very proud to announce that Israel and Hamas have both signed off on the first Phase of our Peace Plan. This means that ALL of the Hostages will be released very soon, and Israel will withdraw their Troops to an agreed upon line as the first steps toward a Strong, Durable, and Everlasting Peace.”

The president emphasized that all parties involved in the peace deal between Israel and Hamas will be “treated fairly” and described Wednesday as a “GREAT DAY” for the United States, Israel, Arab and Muslim nations, and the surrounding countries in the Middle East.

“We thank the mediators from Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey, who worked with us to make this Historic and Unprecedented Event happen,” Trump added. “BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS!”

During a Wednesday night interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity, Trump explained that the “whole world came together” to achieve the historic peace deal in the Middle East. The president noted that the countries surrounding Israel and Gaza have all agreed to his administration’s peace plan and that other countries have committed to “do whatever is necessary” to create peace and stability in the region.

“It’s really been an amazing period of time — and so great for Israel, so great for Muslims, for the Arab countries, and so great for this country, for the United States of America, in that we could be involved in making a deal like this happen,” Trump said.

Trump added that the peace deal his administration has been negotiating not only establishes peace in Gaza but also for the whole region of the Middle East. “It’s an incredible thing,” the president told Hannity.

Following the announcement of the peace deal on Wednesday, Trump spoke with the family members of the Israeli hostages, who met together with Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick. Trump told the Israeli families, “The hostages will come back; they’re all coming back on Monday.”

“Mr. President, we believe in you. We know you’ve done so much for us over the past, since you became a president, and even before that,” Moshe Emilio Lavi, the brother-in-law of Omri Miran, an Israeli citizen who was abducted by Hamas on October 7, 2023, said during Wednesday’s phone call, according to The New York Post.

“We trust you’ll fulfill the mission until every hostage, every 48 of the hostages are home,” Lavi added. “Thank you so much. Blessed be the peacemakers.”
