Alec Baldwin and Stephen Baldwin, two famous actors, were involved in a major car crash on Monday in the Hamptons, New York.
East Hampton Police Chief Michael Sarlo told TMZ that officials responded to a motor vehicle accident on State Route 27, Pantigo Road at roughly 12:01 p.m. on Monday.
“A white 2023 Range Rover, operated by Alec Baldwin, with passenger Stephen Baldwin, was found to have struck a tree on the Eastbound shoulder of the roadway while avoiding the turning action of a 2020 Mack commercial truck, registered to National Waste Services out of Bay Shore, NY,” Sarlo said.
The police chief added, “There were no injuries reported or summons issued and the contributing factors to the accident were found to be a reaction to an uninvolved vehicle and the slippery and wet roadway conditions.”
In a statement to Fox News, a representative for Stephen Baldwin confirmed that the actor was “doing fine” and was thankful that no one was injured in the accident. The representative added, “He appreciates the concern and he can confirm that he and Alec are both safe and well.”
Alec Baldwin shared an update following the crash on Monday in a video on Instagram. “I was in a car accident this morning,” Alec Baldwin said. “I’m fine. My brother Stephen was visiting me.”
Alec Baldwin claimed that the accident happened after a “garbage truck the size of a whale” cut him off as he was driving his wife, Hilaria Baldwin’s vehicle, which he said was “pretty smashed up.”

“To avoid hitting him, I hit a tree. I hit a big fat tree and crushed my wife’s car. I crushed my wife’s car—I feel bad about that,” the actor said. “But it’s all fine, and I’m fine, and my brother’s fine.”
During his video summary of Monday’s car crash, Alec Baldwin thanked the East Hampton Police Department for helping him and his brother in the aftermath of the crash. He explained that an accident report was filed with the police, who were “as pleasant as can be” regarding the situation.
“I’m going to L.A. to see my family,” Alec Baldwin said later in the video. “Can’t wait. Going out to California to gather my family together, spend a few days out there, and then come home.”
A video shared on X, formerly Twitter, shows the moment Alec Baldwin crashed into the tree right next to the large truck on Monday.
Pictures of Alec Baldwin and the damage to his wife’s Range Rover vehicle were shared on social media by The New York Post.
