Law enforcement officials have released a video showing a possible abduction in order to identify a woman who appears to have been taken by force by an unidentified male on Sunday morning in Wichita, Kansas.

During a Tuesday press conference, the Wichita Police Department confirmed that an investigation remains ongoing into a “possible abduction” that was recorded on a Ring doorbell camera at roughly 2 a.m. on Sunday in the 1400 block of North Volutsia, which is located in Wichita.

Wichita Police Department Capt. Todd Ojile told reporters on Tuesday that the homeowner notified police officials regarding camera footage that showed “a female being grabbed by a male, and then forced away from the area.” The woman can be heard screaming after she is grabbed by the unidentified male.

In a statement on X, formerly Twitter, the Wichita Police Department announced that it followed up on “numerous leads” regarding the two individuals shown in the doorbell camera footage, but that officials were not able to identify the female or the male in the video. The department also released the camera footage and asked the public for help identifying the two individuals.

“Exploring all options, we’ve reached out to our regional and federal law enforcement partners for additional assistance,” the Wichita Police Department stated. “Our team has processed the audio, reducing background noise, hoping that someone will recognize her voice. Please take a moment to review the video. If you recognize either of these individuals, call detectives at 316-268-4407 or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.”

During Tuesday’s press briefing, Wichita Police Department Chief Joe Sullivan announced that Crime Stoppers is offering a $2,000 reward for any tip that results in the identification of either individual shown in the video.

“Our main concern is the safety and welfare of the woman seen in that video,” Sullivan told reporters.

Wichita Police Capt. Aaron Moses also emphasized that the department’s priority is the safety of the unidentified female shown in the video and “verifying that she is safe.”

Moses added, “So I would say, even if you are the female in this video and you’re concerned about calling us, please call us so that we can verify that you are safe, and then we will continue our investigation to what occurred.”
