A new poll shows that the majority of voters in America support President Donald Trump’s deployment of the National Guard to defend Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facilities across the United States.
A poll conducted by Rasmussen Reports from October 7 to October 9 shows that 52 percent of likely U.S. voters support Trump’s deployment of the National Guard to defend ICE facilities, which have faced repeated attacks by left-wing protesters over the past several months. The 52 percent of voters who support Trump’s deployment of the National Guard includes 39 percent of likely U.S. voters who strongly support the deployment of National Guard troops to defend ICE facilities.
On the other hand, the Rasmussen Reports poll shows that only 43 percent of likely voters oppose Trump’s deployment of the National Guard to protect ICE facilities, including 33% of voters who strongly oppose the deployment.
In addition to the question on Trump’s use of the National Guard to provide additional protection for ICE facilities across the country, likely U.S. voters were asked whether they approve or disapprove of the Trump administration’s operations to locate and deport illegal immigrants. The poll found that 53% of likely U.S. voters approve of the Trump administration’s operations, while 43 percent oppose the operations.

In another question, the Rasmussen Reports poll asked U.S. voters, “Do you agree or disagree with this statement: ‘We have seen, over the last nine months, an ongoing legal insurrection in which district court judges … have issued rulings that are flagrantly unlawful and unconstitutional’?” In response, 56 percent of likely U.S. voters agreed with the statement, while 31 percent of likely U.S. voters disagreed with the statement.
According to Rasmussen Reports, the recent poll was conducted with 1,184 likely U.S. voters and had a 3 percent margin of error.
The Rasmussen Reports poll comes after a federal judge temporarily blocked Trump’s deployment of the National Guard to Portland last week. The Post Millennial reported that the president has ordered the National Guard to be deployed to Portland, Chicago, Memphis, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C., in an effort to protect federal buildings from anti-ICE protests and crack down on illegal immigration and crime.
