Videos from Thursday night’s baseball game between the New York Yankees and the Detroit Tigers at Yankee Stadium show President Donald Trump being welcomed with loud cheers.

According to Fox News, the president attended Thursday night’s game in honor of the 24th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The crowd at Yankee Stadium cheered and chanted as Trump watched the game in a suite with Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner and Yankees President Randy Levine.

In a video prior to Thursday’s game, an announcer can be heard saying, “In recognition of the anniversary of 9/11, the most deadly and vicious attack on our American homeland in our history, the New York Yankees take this moment to honor the victims of this tragedy and those who worked tirelessly to bring back our great city. The New York Yankees welcome back to Yankee Stadium the 45th and 47th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, for the solemn anniversary of September 11, 2001.”

As Trump was displayed on the baseball stadium’s jumbotron, the crowd can be heard cheering and applauding.

A second video shows Trump saluting as “God Bless America” was sung. As Trump was again shown on the jumbotron, fans erupted with cheers and applause for the 47th president.

In another video, the president can be seen waving from the suite to the crowd as people chant, “Donald Trump! Donald Trump!” and “USA! USA! USA!”

The New York Post reported that the president also spoke with players on the Yankees in the team’s clubhouse prior to Thursday night’s game. “You’re gonna win,” Trump told the players. “You’re gonna go all the way.” The outlet noted that the Yankees defeated the Tigers 9-3 following the president’s prediction.

A picture of Trump and the New York Yankees was shared Thursday on X, formerly Twitter.

Reflecting on the reception he received at Thursday’s baseball game during a Friday interview on “Fox & Friends,” Trump said, “The fans were really nice.”

“You never know what you’re going to get in New York, but we got a tremendous applause because they love this country,” Trump added.
