The Department of Homeland Security announced on Monday that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is launching “Operation Midway Blitz” in Chicago to target “the worst of the worst” illegal immigrants in the Democrat-run sanctuary city.

In a Monday press release, the Department of Homeland Security announced that the Trump administration was launching an ICE operation in Chicago in honor of Katie Abraham, a 20-year-old female who was killed by Julio Cucul-Bol, an illegal immigrant from Guatemala, in a drunk driving hit-and-run car crash in Illinois.

The Department of Homeland Security confirmed that Operation Midway Blitz will target criminal illegal immigrants who “flocked” to Chicago and other parts of Illinois “because they knew Governor Pritzker and his sanctuary policies would protect them and allow them to roam free on American streets.”

In Monday’s press release, Assistant Homeland Security Secretary Tricia McLaughlin explained that Operation Midway Blitz would involve ICE officials targeting the “worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens” in Chicago. McLaughlin claimed that Chicago has become a “magnet for criminals” and warned that American lives have been placed at risk due to Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D-Ill.) and other “sanctuary politicians” allowing drug traffickers, rapists, kidnappers, and members of the Tren de Aragua gang to be released on the streets of Chicago.

The Department of Homeland Security also shared the names and information on a “handful” of some of the “worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens” that have been released in Illinois under Pritzker’s leadership.

The press release noted that Gabriel J Valle Galvez, Javier Carmelo Casillas Gomez, Victor Manuel Gomez-Atilano, Ricardo Salas Muro, Dany Daniel Hernandez Colina, Dany Daniel Hernandez Colina, Oscar Remiez Vences, Frankismar Oliveira-Infante, Rutilo Uriostegui Mojica, Pedro Enrique Colmenares Gonzalez, and Abdul Raza Al Kaby, who have all been charged for various crimes, including kidnapping, drug trafficking, armed violence, and assault, remain at large.

“President Trump and Secretary Noem have a clear message: no city is a safe haven for criminal illegal aliens,” McLaughlin stated. “If you come to our country illegally and break our laws, we will hunt you down, arrest you, deport you, and you will never return.”
