A new video shows a rescue team saving a father and daughter from the ocean after the daughter fell off a cruise ship, prompting her dad to jump into the ocean in an attempt to rescue her.
According to Fox News, the rescue occurred on Sunday while the Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Dream was returning from the Bahamas to Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
In a statement obtained by Fox News, a Disney Cruise Line spokesperson said, “The Crew aboard the Disney Dream swiftly rescued two guests from the water. We commend our Crew Members for their exceptional skills and prompt actions, which ensured the safe return of both guests to the ship within minutes.”
According to Fox News, a rescue team deployed a rescue boat and launched life rings into the water after the father and daughter went overboard. The outlet confirmed that no injuries were reported from the cruise ship incident.

A Disney Cruise line spokesperson emphasized that the company is “committed to the safety and well-being of our guests” and claimed that the incident “highlights the effectiveness of our safety protocols.”
In a Monday Facebook post, Kevin Furuta, a witness of the cruise ship rescue, wrote, “On the last day of our Dream voyage and it is an at Sea Day. A girl fell overboard from the 4th deck & her dad went in after her. Right after the incident we heard on the loud speaker MOB Port side!! Thankfully the DCL rescue team was on it immediately and both were saved!”
According to CBS News, Laura Amador, a passenger on the Disney cruise ship, described the incident, saying, “The ship was moving quickly, so quickly, it’s crazy how quickly the people became tiny dots in the sea, and then you lost sight of them. The captain slowed the ship and turned it around, and then they deployed a tender ship with people on it to go get them, and we saw them rescue the dad and daughter.”
A video shared by Collin Rugg, co-owner of Trending Politics, on X, formerly Twitter, shows the rescue team saving the father and daughter and transporting them back to the Disney cruise ship.
