The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is currently conducting a manhunt for a former U.S. Marine Corps reservist who has been charged for shooting at law enforcement officials in last week’s ambush at a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention facility in Texas, which was allegedly executed by an Antifa cell.
According to Fox News, 32-year-old Benjaim Hanil Song has been identified as the 12th suspect believed to have been involved in the “planned ambush” at the Prairieland Detention Center in Alvarado, Texas, last Friday. The ambush led to a police officer being shot in the neck.
A criminal complaint has accused the former U.S. Marine Corps reservist of using two AR-15 style rifles to shoot at an Alvarado police officer and two correctional officers outside the detention center.
In a statement on the FBI’s website, the agency announced that it is offering up to $25,000 as a reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the 32-year-old suspect.
“Benjamin Hanil Song is wanted for his alleged involvement in the July 4, 2025, attack on the Prairieland Detention Center in Alvarado, Texas,” the FBI stated. “On July 9, 2025, a federal arrest warrant was issued for Song in the United States District Court, Northern District of Texas, Fort Worth, Texas, after he was charged with Attempted Murder of a Federal Officer and Discharging a Firearm During, in Relation to, and in Furtherance of a Crime of Violence.”
A picture of Song was shared on X, formerly Twitter, by the FBI.
Fox News reported that Song has been charged with three counts of attempting to murder a federal officer and three counts of discharging a firearm to further a violent crime.
In the criminal complaint against Song, the FBI claimed that the suspect hid in the woods near the Texas ICE facility for approximately 24 hours after last Friday’s ambush before he escaped from the area.
