Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Kash Patel announced on Monday that the agency has discovered documents containing “alarming allegations” that the Chinese Communist party mass produced fake driver’s licenses in a mail-in ballot scheme that officials say was designed to help former President Joe Biden win the 2020 presidential election.
In a statement on X, formerly Twitter, Patel wrote, “The FBI has located documents which detail alarming allegations related to the 2020 U.S. election, including allegations of interference by the CCP. I have immediately declassified the material and turned the documents over to the Chairman Grassley for further review.”
Officials told Just the News that the declassified intelligence reports are from August of 2020 and confirmed that the allegations were not fully investigated or corroborated by the agency. Officials told the outlet that the intelligence reports were recalled at roughly the same time that former FBI Director Christopher Wray testified that there were no known foreign interference plots prior to the 2020 election.
According to Just the News, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) previously presented concerns to the FBI that the intelligence reports regarding China’s alleged interference in the 2020 election had not been fully investigated.

“Thanks to the oversight work and partnership of Chairman Grassley, the FBI continues to provide unprecedented transparency at the people’s Bureau,” Patel told Just the News. “To that end, we have located documents Chairman Grassley requested, which detail alarming allegations related to the 2020 U.S. election.”
“Specifically, these include allegations of plans from the CCP to manufacture fake driver’s licenses and ship them into the United States for the purpose of facilitating fraudulent mail-in ballots – allegations which, while substantiated, were abruptly recalled and never disclosed to the public,” Patel added.
According to Just the News, officials who have reviewed the documents the FBI shared with Grassley claimed that the alleged Chinese ballot scheme stemmed from a newer confidential source who told the FBI in the summer months of 2020 that the Chinese government was mass producing and shipping out fraudulent U.S. driver’s licenses to create fake voter identities to allow Chinese individuals in the United States to vote with fraudulent mail-in ballots.
Officials told Just the News that the confidential source claimed the alleged Chinese ballot scheme was intended to help Biden in the presidential election. Officials also told the outlet that the FBI’s intelligence report was recalled in just a few weeks and that the report was not fully investigated on the claim that the confidential source needed to be interviewed again.
However, Just the News reported that officials said U.S. Customs and Border Protection intercepted roughly 20,000 fraudulent driver’s licenses around the same time the confidential source reported the allegations.
