The United States Air Force Office of Special Investigations is conducting a manhunt for a U.S. airman who has been accused of military desertion and multiple crimes involving the possession and distribution of child sexual abuse materials.

In a Thursday Facebook post, the United States Air Force Office of Special Investigations announced that it was looking for 27-year-old Brandon Standifer, a first class airman.

“Airman 1st Class Brandon Standifer is wanted by AFOSI and has been declared a military deserter,” the United States Air Force Office of Special Investigations stated. “Last seen: Bozeman-Yellowstone International Airport, Montana, April 19, 2025. He has ties in Michigan and Ohio. Please share this post to help us spread the word!”

In a wanted poster included in Thursday’s Facebook post, the United States Air Force Office of Special Investigations explained that the 27-year-old airman was assigned to Hurlburt Field, Florida, as an aircraft maintainer and is currently the “subject of an active investigation by the U.S. Air Force.”

“Criminal charges were being preferred when he fled his duty station to avoid prosecution on April 18, 2025. He was declared a military deserter on April 21, 2025,” the United States Air Force Office of Special Investigations noted in the wanted poster. “A1C Standifer was last seen on CCTV after arriving at the Bozeman-Yellowstone International Airport, Montana, on April 19, 2025. Standifer has family ties to Michigan and Ohio.”

According to Fox 9, Air Force officials have indicated that the 27-year-old airman does not likely have access to firearms; however, officials suggested that Standifer could have “suicidal tendencies” based on a journal the 27-year-old left that included plans to “jump off a cliff.”

Fox 9 reported that while the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension confirmed that a mobile device linked to the 27-year-old airman pinged in the region of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, the airman’s current location has not yet been determined.

According to the United States Air Force Office of Special Investigations’ wanted poster, Standifer is a white male, is six feet tall, weighs roughly 160 pounds, has blue eyes and brown hair, and has a bee tattoo on his upper left arm.

A picture of Standifer has been shared on X, formerly Twitter.
