President Donald Trump’s administration confirmed on Monday that it would be “pausing” all military aid to Ukraine following Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance’s heated meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Friday at the White House.
According to Fox News, the Trump administration’s pause on military aid to Ukraine will include weapons that are already in transit or are currently in Poland.
“President Trump has been clear that he is focused on peace,” a White House official said in a statement obtained by Fox News. “We need our partners to be committed to that goal as well. We are pausing and reviewing our aid to ensure that it is contributing to a solution.”
Fox News reported that a senior official in the Trump administration confirmed the military aid pause will be implemented until Ukraine’s leaders show they are committed to negotiating peace.
“This is not permanent termination of aid, it’s a pause,” the official told Fox News. “The orders are going out right now.”
According to Fox News, the anonymous Trump administration official indicated that the administration’s decision to pause military aid for Ukraine was in response to how Zelensky has conducted himself over the past week.

Fox News reported that following Friday’s contentious meeting at the White House, Zelensky visited London over the weekend and met with leaders of the United Kingdom to discuss a potential plan for peace.
Asked about the attempt by European leaders to bring about a peaceful resolution to the war between Russia and Ukraine, Zelensky said, “We are talking about the first steps today, and therefore, until they are on paper, I would not like to talk about them in great detail.”
“An agreement to end the war is still very, very far away, and no one has started all these steps yet,” Zelensky added. “The peace that we foresee in the future must be just, honest, and most importantly, sustainable.”
Following Zelensky’s comment that the end of the war between Russia and Ukraine is “still very, very far away,” Trump released a statement on Truth Social, saying, “This is the worst statement that could have been made by Zelenskyy, and America will not put up with it for much longer!”
The 47th president added, “It is what I was saying, this guy doesn’t want there to be Peace as long as he has America’s backing and, Europe, in the meeting they had with Zelenskyy, stated flatly that they cannot do the job without the U.S. – Probably not a great statement to have been made in terms of a show of strength against Russia. What are they thinking?”
