A new video shows Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas) seemingly threatening that he would “f-cking kill” popular news podcaster Tucker Carlson if he ever met him. The Republican lawmaker’s comment was captured on a hot mic following an interview with Great Britain News.

Asked by Steven Edgington, a Great Britain News correspondent, whether he had ever met Carlson, Crenshaw said, “We’ve talked a lot on Twitter…If I ever meet him, I’ll f-cking kill him. He’s the worst person.”

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Edgington shared that while he initially “laughed” at Crenshaw’s hot mic comment, the Republican lawmaker doubled down on his threat, allegedly saying, “No seriously, I would kill him.”

During his interview with Great Britain News, Crenshaw was also asked about Carlson’s criticism of the over $100 billion the United States has sent in aid to Ukraine. In response, the congressman said, “Tucker doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Tucker likes to visit Moscow and talk about how great the grocery stores are, so I don’t really take his advice seriously.”

Crenshaw’s hot mic comments generated significant backlash on social media, with many people questioning the Texas representative’s hostility toward the popular news podcaster and former Fox News host. Tesla CEO and Department of Government Efficiency leader Elon Musk tweeted, “Why is Crenshaw homicidal regarding Tucker?”

Following the circulation of the hot mic video, Carlson responded by challenging Crenshaw to do an interview with him. “Why don’t you come sit for an interview and we’ll see how you do?” Carlson tweeted. “I’ll send you my address.”

Carlson previously described Crenshaw as “the most liberal, most left-wing person I’ve ever met in the Congress.”

Crenshaw also previously expressed criticism against Carlson. In a post from April of 2024, Crenshaw called Carlson a “click chaser.”

“Tucker’s MO is simple: defend America’s enemies and attack America’s allies,” Crenshaw tweeted at the time. “There isn’t an objective bone left in that washed up news host’s body. Mindless contrarianism is his guiding principle, buttressed by his childish tactic to ‘juSt aSK quEsTiOns!'”

“But any educated adult, especially one with such a long career in journalism, should occasionally try *answering* some of those questions objectively,” Crenshaw added. “But he never does. Instead, he uses his platform to sow doubt and paranoia and false narratives.”

Crenshaw accused Carlson of using his platform to convince people that he is “the last place you can go to for truth” to simply obtain “clicks and engagement.”

“Tucker will eventually fade into nothingness, because his veneer of faux intellectualism is quickly falling apart and revealing who he truly is: a cowardly, know-nothing elitist who is full of sh-t,” Crenshaw concluded.
