In a Monday press release, the company said, “In cooperation with Bestway Sandwiches, Inc., and out of an abundance of caution, ALDI Inc., (‘ALDI’) recalls Casa Mamita Chicken & Cheese Taquitos in 31 states. According to Fox Business, while food recalls over metal contamination concerns are typically uncommon, Perdue Foods LLC issued a similar recall in August when the company recalled more than 165,000 pounds of frozen chicken tenders and chicken nuggets due to concerns of metal contamination.
Fox Business reported that the August recall incident was announced by the United States Department of Agriculture after reports surfaced of metal wire in the company’s chicken tenders and chicken nuggets.
