A Connecticut resident ended their week by claiming a winning lottery ticket worth half a million dollars, and another Connecticut Lottery player has yet to claim hundreds of thousands in winnings.

On Friday, Jan. 17, a Milford resident claimed a $500,000 prize from a winning “$4,000,000 Fortune” scratch game ticket, according to the Connecticut Lottery winners list.

According to the Connecticut Lottery’s “$4,000,000 Fortune” page, the Milford resident was the second player of the game to claim a $500,000 prize. A Stratford resident claimed the first $500,000 prize in March 2024.

The winnings were the game’s second-highest prize, and the odds of winning were one-in-a-million, according to the “$4,000,000 Fortune” how to win page.

In the scratch game, players have the chance to win a top prize of $4 million paid as a 20-year annuity or a one-time gross cash option of $3 million, according to the Connecticut Lottery’s “$4,000,000 Fortune” page.

The Connecticut Lottery announced the launch of the “$4,000,000 Fortune” game in December 2023, and only one player has won the top prize so far. In September 2024, a Windsor Locks resident cashed in $3 million before taxes after claiming the first-ever winning top prize “$4,000,000 Fortune” ticket, and it was the first top prize the Connecticut Lottery sold for a $50 scratch ticket.

Additionally, on Saturday, Jan. 18, a Connecticut Lottery player won a $200,000 jackpot prize from a Fast Play Big Bankroll scratch-off ticket. As of Tuesday morning, the winnings are still unclaimed. According to the Connecticut Lottery unclaimed top prize tickets list, the winning ticket was purchased at the Eagle Mart at 2 Spring St. in Stafford Springs. The winner has until July 17 to claim the winnings.

As of Tuesday morning, a winning $10.8 million-dollar “Lotto!” ticket sold at the PVC Gulf convenience store located at 287 Danbury Road in Wilton also remains unclaimed and will expire on July 9.
