President-elect Donald Trump gave his first public speech since the 2024 presidential election on Sunday at Turning Point USA’s America Fest in Phoenix, Arizona. During his speech, the president-elect called the woke movement “bullsh-t,” promised to secure the country’s borders, and threatened to push back against transgender policies in the military and in U.S. schools.

Addressing the crowd at Turning Point USA’s America Fest, Trump said, “Woke has to stop, because along with everything else, it’s destroying our country. We’re gonna stop woke. Woke is bullsh-t.” Trump’s comments against the “woke” policies that have been implemented in the United States over the past few years were quickly met with loud cheers from the attendees at Sunday’s event.

According to The Post Millennial, Trump used his first public speech since his landslide victory over Vice President Kamala Harris in November to reveal some of the priorities for his second term in the White House. Trump promised to secure the southern border between the U.S. and Mexico, combat illegal drugs pouring into the country, and conduct mass deportations of illegal immigrants. The president-elect also stressed the importance of protecting America’s interests in the Panama Canal and even threatened to take back control of the Panama Canal.

Addressing the illegal immigration crisis under the Biden-Harris administration, Trump said, “We had 21 million people come in the past four years… Hundreds of thousands are racing to come across before January 20.” Trump also reiterated his promise on Sunday to conduct “the largest deportation operation in American history.”

Additionally, Trump promised during Sunday’s keynote speech to immediately tackle the issue of transgender policies in the military and in America’s public school system.

“With a stroke of my pen on day one, we’re going to stop the transgender lunacy,” Trump said. “And I will sign executive orders to end child sexual mutilation, get transgender out of the military and out of our elementary schools and middle schools and high school. And we will keep men out of women’s sports.”

The president-elect added, “Under the Trump administration, it will be the official policy of the United States government that there are only two genders, male and female.”
