Alex Bruesewitz, an adviser to President-elect Donald Trump’s campaign, passed out and collapsed suddenly onstage on Sunday night while giving a speech at the New York Young Republican Club gala.

According to Fox News, the 27-year-old Trump adviser was introducing Dan Scavino, who is expected to serve as a senior White House aide in the upcoming Trump administration, before he started slurring his words and collapsed on the stage.

A video shared on X, formerly Twitter, shows Bruesewitz saying, “I’m forgetting my words.” A few moments later, Bruesewitz appeared to freeze before suddenly collapsing. The video also shows multiple people quickly rushing toward the Trump adviser to make sure he was alright.

Fox News reported that Raheem Kassam, the master of ceremonies for Sunday’s Republican event, later provided the audience with an update and assured everyone that Bruesewitz was “recuperating” backstage.

“I talked to our friend Alex Bruesewitz, and you know what he said to me? He goes, ‘Did I at least look cool?’ I said, ‘Alex, you used gravity like I’ve seen nobody use gravity before in their lives,'” Kassam told the audience. “But he’s recuperating back there, so give him a big cheer so he’ll hear you. Alex, we love you!”

Conservative commentator Jack Posobiec also provided an update in a statement on social media, saying, “Just talked to @alexbruesewitz backstage.” Posobiec explained that Bruesewitz was being evaluated by medical professionals after experiencing a “brief fainting spell onstage.”

“All levels are normal,” Posobiec added. “Only thing he asked me was, ‘Did it look cool?’ He’ll be just fine.”

According to The New York Post, Trump called in to the New York Young Republican Club gala following Bruesewitz’s collapse on Sunday night. “I know that Alex is going to be fine because he’s a tough son of a gun,” the president-elect said. “There’s no doubt about that. So I want to say hello to Alex, because he’s a very special guy.”

Bruesewitz currently works as the CEO of X Strategies LLC, a consultancy firm that promotes the election of “America First” political candidates. According to the consultancy firm’s website, Bruesewitz is a “prominent political consultant and strategist known for his unwavering support of President Donald Trump and the America First agenda.”
