President-elect Donald Trump claimed on Monday that President Joe Biden, the military, and the U.S. government know what is happening with regard to increased reports of drone activity across the East Coast.

During a Monday press conference at Mar-a-Lago, the president-elect responded to questions from reporters regarding the recent reports of drone sightings across multiple states on the East Coast.

“The government knows what is happening,” Trump told reporters. “Look, our military knows where they took off from. If it’s a garage, they can go right into that garage. They know where it came from and where it went. And for some reason, they don’t want to comment. And I think they’d be better off saying what it is.”

“Our military knows, and our president knows. And for some reason, they want to keep people in suspense. I can’t imagine it’s the enemy because [if] it was the enemy they’d blast it out,” Trump added. “Even if they were late, they’d blast it. Something strange is going on, and for some reason, they don’t want to tell the people, and they should.”

The president-elect also told reporters that the mysterious drones have been spotted over Bedminster, New Jersey, which is the location of one of Trump’s golf courses. Warning that the drone sightings were “very close to Bedminster,” Trump said, “I think I won’t spend the weekend in Bedminster. I decided to cancel my trip.”

In a post on Truth Social last week, Trump said the sightings of mysterious drones were being reported “all over” the United States. The president-elect also suggested that it was unlikely the drone activity was taking place without the government’s knowledge. As a result, Trump urged the government to inform the American people, saying, “Let the public know, and now. Otherwise, shoot them down!!!”

After receiving tips on over 5,000 reported drone sightings, the Department of Homeland Security, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Federal Aviation Administration, and the Department of Defense released a joint statement on Tuesday, saying, “We have not identified anything anomalous and do not assess the activity to date to present a national security or public safety risk over the civilian airspace in New Jersey or other states in the northeast.”
