A new video shows a robot dog protecting a group of children at President-elect Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida. The video comes amid heightened security around the president-elect following two assassination attempts over the past several months.
“Donald Trump’s robot dog protects while a group of children play at Mar-a-Lago,” Collin Rugg, co-owner of Trending Politics, tweeted Monday afternoon alongside a video of the robot dog. “The dog has been patrolling for weeks and joined the team after the election to add another level of protection for Trump.”
In the video shared on X, formerly Twitter, children can be seen running around and playing under adult supervision as a robot dog patrols the area. Rugg noted that the dog, which is nicknamed “Spot,” is roughly four feet long and two feet tall and can move approximately five feet each second.
According to The New York Post, Trump’s security at Mar-a-Lago has increased following the 2024 presidential election and two assassination attempts. Part of the increased security includes the U.S. Secret Service robot dog that has been recorded patrolling the property over the past month. The robot dog features “DO NOT PET” warnings on its legs.
A Secret Service spokesperson confirmed to The New York Post last month that the remote-controlled robot dog, which was designed by Boston Dynamics, is a protective measure deployed by the agency.

“Safeguarding the President-elect is a top priority,” the Secret Service spokesperson said. “While we cannot get into the specific capabilities, the robotic dogs are equipped with surveillance technology, and an array of advanced sensors that support our protective operations.”
The New York Post also shared a picture of Vice President-elect J.D. Vance playing with his three children outside Mar-a-Lago in the middle of November while the Secret Service robot dog stood nearby.
