An Islamic illegal immigrant recently arrested for terrorism and hate crime charges was found dead inside the Cook County Jail in Chicago over the weekend.
According to CWB Chicago, the Cook County Sheriff’s Office confirmed on Sunday that 22-year-old Sidi Mohamed Abdallahi was found dead on Saturday inside the Cook County jail. Officials have indicated that his death appears to have been the result of a hanging suicide and that there is “no evidence of foul play at this time.”
CWB Chicago reported that Abdallahi was severely wounded during a shootout with Chicago police officers on October 26. A spokesperson with the Cook County Sheriff’s Office confirmed on Sunday that Abdallahi had been staying at Cermak Health Services, the jail’s medical facility, since November 15.
According to CWB Chicago, Cook County jail personnel “found Abdallahi unresponsive due to an apparent suicide attempt by hanging in his cell” at roughly 3:30 p.m. on Saturday while conducting routine security checks. A Cook County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson noted, “Staff immediately initiated life-saving measures and Abdallahi was transported by a Chicago Fire Department ambulance to Mt. Sinai Hospital where he was subsequently pronounced deceased.”

According to Fox News, Abdallahi was in jail on multiple charges, including a hate crime, terrorism, seven counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm at a police officer or firefighter, and six counts of attempted first-degree murder. The illegal immigrant was charged for allegedly shooting a 39-year-old Jewish man near a synagogue in Chicago and for shooting at first responders when they arrived to help the victim on October 26. The illegal immigrant was then severely injured and hospitalized by the returning fire of Chicago police officers.
The Daily Wire reported that Abdallahi was recorded shouting “Allahu Akbar” on a security camera during the October incident.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement told The Daily Wire that Abdallahi was an illegal immigrant from Mauritania, which is an Islamic country located in Africa. According to The Daily Wire, Abdallahi illegally crossed the southern border and entered the United States last year under the Biden-Harris administration’s open border policies.
