Anti-Israel protesters were arrested on Tuesday after staging a demonstration inside a U.S. Senate office building in Washington, D.C. The protesters repeatedly chanted “Free Palestine” and displayed pro-Palestine banners in an attempt to place pressure against U.S. lawmakers who have continued to provide aid to Israel in its war against the Hamas in Gaza following the terrorist group’s attack against Israel last October.

According to Fox News, a large group of pro-Palestine and anti-Israel protesters were recorded in the Philip A. Hart Senate Office Building on Tuesday demanding that the United States bring an end to the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza. A video of Tuesday’s protest shows dozens of anti-Israel protesters in red t-shirts with the words “STOP ARMING ISRAEL.”

In the video, the anti-Israel protesters can be seen on multiple floors of the Senate office building. Some of the protesters held banners that read “Fund Life Not Genocide,” “Fund Education Not Genocide,” “Fund Jobs Not Genocide,” “Fund Housing Not Genocide,” and “Time to Act.”

Other protesters located on the balconies of the upper floor threw sticky notes with pro-Palestine and anti-Israel messages onto the atrium floor of the Senate office building. The protesters can be heard chanting “Free Palestine” and other anti-Israel messages throughout the video.

A picture shared by Fox News on X, formerly Twitter, shows three protesters in “STOP ARMING ISRAEL” shirts being led away from the protest by U.S. Capitol Police officers. The protesters can be seen with their hands in zip ties. Fox News reported that the protesters were witnessed chanting against Israel while they were arrested by the police officers.

On Tuesday evening, a U.S. Capitol Police public information officer told World News Group that law enforcement officials arrested 44 protesters for illegally protesting in the Senate office building on Tuesday. The U.S. Capitol Police spokesperson also told the outlet that two of the protesters were charged for assaulting a police officer during Tuesday’s incident.

According to World News Group, U.S. senators are expected to vote later this week on a bill that would reverse a $20 billion weapons deal previously approved for Israel. The outlet noted that Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) first introduced the bill to block the Israeli aid in September.
