President-elect Donald Trump appeared to confirm on Monday that his administration will declare a “national emergency” and will use “military assets” to carry out a “mass deportation program” to help solve the illegal immigration crisis currently facing the United States.

In response to a Truth Social post from Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton, which stated, “GOOD NEWS: Reports are the incoming @RealDonaldTrump administration prepared to declare a national emergency and will use military assets to reverse the Biden invasion through a mass deportation program,” Trump wrote, “TRUE!!”

During his rally at Madison Square Garden in New York City just prior to the 2024 presidential election, Trump pledged to start deporting illegal immigrants immediately after his inauguration.

“On Day 1, I will launch the largest deportation program in American history to get the criminals out,” Trump said. “I will rescue every city and town that has been invaded and conquered, and we will put these vicious and bloodthirsty criminals in jail, then kick them the hell out of our country as fast as possible.”

The Daily Wire reported that if Trump issues an emergency declaration to address the southern border crisis, it would be a similar approach to the president-elect’s 2019 emergency declaration regarding the southern border during his first administration amid opposition from the Democratic Party.

During the 2024 presidential campaign, Trump repeatedly pledged to conduct the largest U.S. deportation program to reverse the unprecedented number of illegal immigrants entering the country under the Biden-Harris administration.

“Really, we have no choice,” Trump previously told NBC. “When people have killed and murdered, when drug lords have destroyed countries, and now they’re going to go back to those countries because they’re not staying here. There is no price tag.”

The Post Millennial reported that at least 10 million migrants have entered the United States under the Biden-Harris administration. The outlet also noted that roughly 54% of American voters supported the president-elect’s plan to deport illegal immigrants.

According to The Post Millennial, if the Trump administration used “military assets” to aid the mass deportation of illegal immigrants, it could help solve a potential shortage of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents needed to effectively conduct the mass deportation program.

Discussing the president-elect’s plan to deport illegal immigrants, former ICE Director Thomas Homan, who has been selected as the next “border czar,” recently told Fox News, “It’s going to be a well-targeted, planned operation conducted by the men of ICE. The men and women of ICE do this daily. They’re good at it.”
