A supporter of former President Donald Trump was hospitalized recently with a brain bleed after reportedly being assaulted by his neighbor during a dispute over a Trump flag in Orange County, California.

John Muder, a Trump supporter, told Fox 11 that the dispute started when his neighbor’s sign in support of Vice President Kamala Harris and Gov. Tim Walz (D-Minn.) was stolen from his yard. Muder told Fox 11 that he believes the neighbor assumed he stole the sign since he had a Trump flag on his garage.

“He was thinking it was me because I have my Trump sign,” Muder said. “Which is the furthest from the truth.”

After the Harris-Walz sign disappeared, Muder said his Trump flag also disappeared. However, after checking inside his neighbor’s garbage can, Muder discovered his missing Trump flag.

“I was on the sidewalk,” Muder said. “I knew he had a Ring camera thing, so I said, ‘Hey, can you stay off my property?’ I left. It was probably no more than 10 or 15 minutes later he came over to my house screaming and yelling.”

Fox 11 reported that a surveillance video captured the dispute between the two neighbors regarding the Trump flag. Muder also told the outlet that his neighbor assaulted him during the dispute in his garage.

“He came in, next thing I know he started assaulting me,” Muder told Fox 11. “He knocked me out. I have a major brain bruise in the back of my head.  I got kicked in the face, I believe. There was mass blood. He left me there basically on my own to survive.”

Following the incident, Muder was transported to the hospital, where he remained for multiple days. An Orange County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson confirmed that officers responded to a home in Ladera Ranch, California, for a fight. The spokesperson also confirmed that an individual was arrested for battery and assault. Fox 11 reported that the man was reportedly released from jail on bond.

Discussing the recent incident, Muder told Fox 11, “If you’re willing to hurt someone over a political view, you need some serious help.”

“I had bleeding of the brain,” Muder added. “I just can’t believe the violence this guy alluded to. For what? A flag? Are you kidding me?”

A picture of Muder in the hospital was shared by Fox 11 on X, formerly Twitter.
