Not just Putin and the Russian nuclear threat. Kim Jong-un also warns the US about the possibility of an armed conflict “at any time”. And he does so through the North Korean Defense Ministry, which speaks of a situation that would justify the adoption of self-defense measures due to continuous “US provocations”.

“We strongly warn the United States and its hostile supporters against the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea” to “immediately cease hostile acts that generate further provocations and instability and that could lead the military confrontation on the Korean peninsula and its surroundings to a real armed conflict”, reads a statement reported by the official KCNA news agency.

Defense officials then claim that the “military adventurism” of the United States has “crossed the red line on a global scale”. Washington’s “military provocations” “represent the source to plunge the regional situation into irreparable catastrophe”.

For the North Korean government, it is a “constitutional duty” for its armed forces to adopt “self-defense measures to protect the State’s security environment and maintain strategic stability and the balance of power in the region”, where “two warring parties are on high alert” and “the possibility of an ongoing military conflict persists”.

“The Army is closely monitoring the military movements of the United States and its allies, keeping open the possibility of all options in its preparation. If deemed necessary, it will take immediate measures to contain the danger”, warns North Korea.

Meanwhile, the United States predicts that thousands of North Korean soldiers stationed in Russia will “soon” fight against Ukrainian forces. This was stated by Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin. The US Secretary of Defense estimates that around 10,000 North Korean army personnel are in the Russian region of Kursk, which borders Ukraine and is partly occupied by Kiev forces, and are “integrated into the Russian formations”.

“Based on what they have been trained” to do and “how they have been integrated into the Russian formations, I expect to see them engaged in combat soon”, Austin told reporters from Fiji, where he is visiting, specifying that he has no knowledge of “any significant information” of North Korean soldiers “actively engaged in combat” to date.
