Former President Donald Trump announced Wednesday that former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) had been “EXPOSED on tape” for her role in the storming of the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote, “BIG NEWS: Nancy Pelosi has been EXPOSED on tape, during her daughter’s documentary, saying she, and she alone, is ‘responsible’ for the events of January 6th, 2021. Can you imagine how that poor and loving daughter has suffered for allowing the TRUTH to get released?”
In addition to his statement on Truth Social, the former president shared an article by Just the News, which explains that despite two video clips provided to House Republicans showing Pelosi taking “responsibility” for not having enough security to protect the Capitol Building on January 6, HBO has remained silent regarding why the video clips were not included in the television network’s final documentary film.
In one video, which was captured by an HBO documentary team led by Nancy Pelosi’s daughter, Alexandra Pelosi, the then-house speaker can be seen being evacuating from the Capitol in an SUV and expressing her dismay regarding security failures as Congress attempted to certify the 2020 presidential election results.

In the video, Nancy Pelosi told Terri McCullough, her chief of staff, “You’re gonna ask me in the middle of the thing, when they’ve already breached the inaugural stuff, ‘Should we call the Capitol Police?’ I mean the National Guard. Why weren’t the National Guard there to begin with?”
After McCullough tried to explain that the security officials initially “thought that they had sufficient resources,” Pelosi said, “They don’t know. They clearly didn’t know. And I take responsibility for not having them just prepare for more.”
In another video, Pelosi can be heard saying, “How many times did members ask, are we prepared? Are we prepared? We’re not prepared for the worst.” The video shows Pelosi being evacuated from a tunnel underneath the Capitol Building while adding, “We’re calling the National Guard now? They should have been here to start out.”
Pelosi also admitted in the video that she and other Democrat leaders “totally failed” to protect the U.S. Capitol by not calling in the U.S. National Guard prior to the Capitol Hill protest. She added, “We’ve got to take some responsibility.”
As the former president has pointed out, the videos recorded by Nancy Pelosi’s daughter appear to contradict the former House speaker’s public comments in which she has attempted to place blame against Trump for the Capitol Hill security failures.
