Dr. Phil McGraw spoke at former President Donald Trump’s Madison Square Garden rally in New York City on Saturday, endorsed the former president, and criticized the Democratic Party for “bullying” Trump supporters.

Addressing the crowd at Madison Square Garden on Sunday, McGraw said, “I’m not here just to stand up for Donald J. Trump. Lord knows he doesn’t need me to stand up for him. He’s tough as an old army boot. He’s got lots of enemies, different groups that are scared, and between them, they have impeached him, indicted him, raided him, railroaded him, shot him, and sued him. And where is he? He is still standing.”

According to The Independent, McGraw explained that while he does not “like or agree” with everything Trump says or does, “no human is perfect” and that individuals pursue “excellence” rather than “perfection.” The psychology expert said that people do not have to “love everything about someone in order to love them.”

Explaining why he decided to speak at Sunday’s New York City rally, McGraw said he was there to “stand up for the people who have declared their support for Donald J. Trump” and for those who are “too intimidated” to publicly express their support for the former president.

Highlighting the way cancel culture treats people who support Trump, McGraw said, “You know what happens when somebody in this country says, ‘Hey, I’m going to vote Republican, I’m going to vote Donald J. Trump’? They get canceled, intimidated, marginalized, excluded, or even fired or boycotted.”

“In short, that adds up to being bullied,” McGraw added. “And now we’re talking about something I know a hell of a lot about.” McGraw then referenced his experience as an “expert about bullying” and told the crowd that bullying is “always wrong.”

Refuting the Democratic Party and mainstream media’s claims that Trump is a “bully,” McGraw said true bullying involves an “imbalance of power” and that when there is not an imbalance of power, “it’s just called a debate. And he’s just better at it than anybody else.”

McGraw urged the crowd to take action against cancel culture, saying, “It’s time that we push back against cancel culture. It’s time that we push back against intimidation tactics.”
