Former President Donald Trump announced early Wednesday morning that there have been “big threats” against his life by Iran. Trump’s warning comes after the former president was briefed on Tuesday regarding “real and specific threats from Iran to assassinate him.”

In a Wednesday morning post on Truth Social, Trump wrote, “Big threats on my life by Iran. The entire U.S. Military is watching and waiting. Moves were already made by Iran that didn’t work out, but they will try again. Not a good situation for anyone.”

NBC News reported that the U.S. Senate unanimously voted to pass legislation on Tuesday that would give both Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris the same level of Secret Service protection that is currently provided to President Joe Biden. The bill, which is called the Enhanced Presidential Security Act, was also passed unanimously by the House of Representatives recently.

In his Truth Social post, the former president thanked Congress for “unanimously approving far more money to Secret Service.” Trump said it was “nice to see Republicans and Democrats get together on something.”

In light of the threats against the former president’s life, Trump said he is currently “surrounded by more men, guns, and weapons than I have ever seen before.” He added, “An attack on a former President is a Death Wish for the attacker!”

On Tuesday, Trump Campaign Communications Director Steven Cheung released a statement, saying, “President Trump was briefed earlier today by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence regarding real and specific threats from Iran to assassinate him in an effort to destabilize and sow chaos in the United States.”

Cheung explained that the threats have been identified by intelligence officials and that the “continued and coordinated attacks have heightened in the past few months.” The Trump campaign communications director noted that law enforcement officials from multiple U.S. agencies are continuing to ensure that the former president is “protected” and that the 2024 election is “free from interference.”

Cheung added, “Make no mistake, the terror regime in Iran loves the weakness of Kamala Harris, and is terrified of the strength and resolve of President Trump. He will let nothing stop him or get in his way to fight for the American people and to Make America Great Again.”

According to The Post Millennial, U.S. intelligence agencies uncovered an Iranian plot to assassinate Trump earlier this year. Over the past few months, the former president has survived assassination attempts at his July 13 rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, and at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida.
