Former President Donald Trump’s campaign released a list of over 50 quotes from Democrats on Monday, suggesting that the rhetoric from the Democrats “inspired” Sunday’s second assassination attempt against Trump.

Sharing pictures of the Trump campaign’s list of Democratic quotes on X, formerly Twitter, internet personality Mario Nawfal wrote, “The Trump campaign shared a comprehensive list of more than 50 quotes from Democrats, asserting that their inflammatory rhetoric directly led to the second assassination attempt on Trump.” Nawfal added that the former president’s campaign also provided sources for each of the quotes.

“Yesterday, President Donald J. Trump was the target of a second assassination attempt in as many months,” the Trump campaign said in Monday’s statement. “Thankfully, the would-be assassin was stopped by the heroic action of law enforcement — but make no mistake, this psycho was egged on by the rhetoric and lies that have flowed from Kamala Harris, Democrats, and their Fake News allies for years.”

The Trump campaign explained that Democrats used “increasingly incendiary rhetoric” against the former president prior to the two recent assassination attempts.

The first statement on the list of Democratic rhetoric was Vice President Kamala Harris’ repeated claim, “Trump is a threat to our democracy and fundamental freedoms.”

Other Democrats who have used “incendiary rhetoric” against Trump include President Joe Biden, who said, “It’s time to put Trump in a bullseye,” Rep. Dan Goldman (D-N.Y.), who said, “He is destructive to our democracy and …  he has to be eliminated,” and Rep. Steve Cohen (D-Tenn.), who said, “Trump is an enemy of the United States.”

During a stumble in a previous interview, Del. Stacey Plaskett (D-Virgin Islands) suggested that Trump “needs to be shot” before correcting herself and saying that he needs to be “stopped.” Additionally, following the first assassination attempt against Trump, Kate Bedingfield, a former Biden-Harris staffer, said Democrats should “turn their fire on Donald Trump.”

After unveiling a list of over 50 quotes by Democrats that Republicans believe contributed to the two assassination attempts against the former president, Trump’s campaign urged Democrats and the “Fake News” to “immediately cease their inflammatory, violent rhetoric against President Trump — which was mimicked by yesterday’s would-be asssassin.”

The Trump campaign added, “President Trump said it best: ‘Because of this Communist Left Rhetoric, the bullets are flying, and it will only get worse!'”
