The Taliban celebrated the third anniversary of the regime’s rise to power in Afghanistan by holding a celebration at a former U.S. air base and parading U.S. military vehicles that were abandoned in the disastrous withdrawal under the Biden-Harris administration in 2021.

According to The Associated Press, the Taliban held a celebration at Bagram Air Base, which previously served as the center of U.S. operations against the Taliban and al-Qaida terrorists in Afghanistan.

“The Islamic Emirate eliminated internal differences and expanded the scope of unity and cooperation in the country,” Deputy Prime Minister Maulvi Abdul Kabir said in a speech urging Western countries to cooperate with the Taliban’s leadership. “No one will be allowed to interfere in internal affairs, and Afghan soil will not be used against any country.”

The Associated Press reported that Wednesday’s celebration also featured a Taliban parade that showcased military vehicles abandoned by the United States and NATO-led forces during the 2021 Afghanistan withdrawal, including Humvees, tanks, and helicopters. The outlet reported that Taliban soldiers marched in uniform with machine guns, while a motorcycle formation displayed the Taliban’s flag.

According to The Associated Press, one parade in Afghanistan’s southern Helmand province featured yellow canisters intended to represent the explosives used in roadside bombings during the Afghanistan War.

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, multiple images showed Taliban troops marching in Wednesday’s celebration, as helicopters, motorcycles, and armored vehicles passed through Bagram Air Base.

A caption accompanying the pictures stated, “The Taliban are holding a major military parade [at] the former U.S. military base in Bagram to celebrate the 3rd anniversary of taking over Kabul. Chinese and Iranian diplomats attended the ceremony.”

Libs of TikTok shared a video of Wednesday’s military parade, tweeting, “The Taliban just held a military parade with our equipment that was left during the disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal.”

Libs of TikTok also shared a video of Vice President Kamala Harris claiming that she was the “last person in the room” with President Joe Biden when he made crucial decisions regarding the withdrawal from Afghanistan, which led to the Taliban seizing approximately seven billion dollars of military equipment left by the United States.

“Kamala is responsible for this,” Libs of TikTok stated. “They’re mocking us. She made us a laughingstock.”
