Music star Sid Wilson, who is the turntablist for the heavy metal band Slipknot, was hospitalized on Friday with “serious burns” after he was burnt in an “explosion” at his farm.

The New York Post reported that the 47-year-old musician was hospitalized due to a bonfire accident on his farm on Friday. In an Instagram video recorded at the hospital, Wilson said, “Hey everybody, I had an explosion in my face. I’m okay. I’m gonna be okay. But I did have some serious burns to my face and my arms.”

In the video, the 47-year-old musician, who can be seen in a hospital bed with an oxygen tube, said medical professionals were taking X-rays of his chest to make sure the music star did not inhale any of the bonfire flames.

“You see, I’m singed everywhere,” Wilson added, as he pointed toward his cheek. “My eyebrows are singed. My mouth is blistered. My arm’s pretty bad — both my arms.”

In another video on Instagram, Wilson told his fans that he was being transported in an ambulance to a different hospital for additional treatment.

“You can see my lips got hit pretty bad,” Wilson said in the second video. “Worst part’s my arms. They’re gonna shave my head, so say goodbye to the long hair. It’s going bye-bye.”

In the video, Wilson emphasized that he was going to be “okay” and explained that the burn injuries were due to a bonfire that had “leftover flames.”

In a Saturday update, Wilson shared a selfie of his facial burns and shared that he was on his way home from the hospital.

According to The New York Post, Kelly Osbourne, the 47-year-old musician’s girlfriend, also shared video updates regarding the incident on her Instagram Stories.

“This is why you don’t f-ck with burn piles,” Osbourne said on Friday. “He literally set himself on fire and exploded everything.”

On Saturday, Osbourne thanked everyone for “sending well wishes to Sid” and announced that the Slipknot musician was “doing so much better.”

Following Wilson’s incident on Friday, Slipknot released a statement on social media, saying, “Our brother Sid Wilson was in an accident today and sustained burns across his body. He’s recovering with his family and will still join us on stage at Rocklahoma next weekend. He thanks everyone for the well wishes, and will see you all soon.”

According to the heavy metal band’s website, Slipknot’s next show is currently scheduled for September 1 at Rocklahoma in Pyror, Oklahoma.

Pictures of the Slipknot musician’s injuries have been shared on social media.
