New York Police Department officials have reported that the recent increase in New York City robberies is linked to teenage illegal immigrant suspects. Police officials have also revealed that the average age of the illegal immigrant suspects is just 15 years old and that an 11-year-old is one of the latest suspects.
According to WABC, Assistant New York Police Department Detectives Bureau Chief Jason Savino announced that groups of eight to 12 young male suspects are approaching victims in Central Park and “robbing them by force.” Savino said the suspects are stealing jewelry, technology, and “whatever they can take.”
Savino said that in the southern part of Central Park, authorities are seeing “a lot of robberies, group robberies, young kids, mugging people or taking their property.” He added. “We believe these are young migrants who are committing these robberies.”
The assistant detective chief noted that of 11 robberies reported in Central Park since the end of June, eight are believed to be connected with illegal immigrant “wolf packs” who steal from tourists and other soft targets.
“So you can imagine the feeling of that individual — predominantly tourists who are soft targets — sitting on a bench, and then ultimately being victimized by these wolf-pack type robberies,” Savino said. “It’s tremendously concerning.”
Savino explained that the rise in coordinated “wolf pack” robberies is unprecedented in the area. He said, “It’s a new phenomenon, not only to Central Park but really to the area.”

According to The Gateway Pundit, New York Police Department Chief of Patrol John Chell recently told reporters, “At this point in time, we’re ready to call it: This is a migrant robbery pattern.” Chell added, “We think they’re responsible for most of them, if not all of them.”
According to WABC, New York Police Department officials are planning to deploy drones in Central Park by the end of August. The drones are expected to respond to crime within a single minute and will track suspects until New York Police Department officers are able to arrive on the ground.
WABC reported that until the drones are introduced, 40 additional police officers will be deployed every night after 7 p.m. to Central Park to reduce crime in the area.
Announcing that law enforcement would be deploying more resources in the area, New York Police Department Deputy Commissioner Tarik Sheppard said, “I’m not gunna tolerate crimes in one of the most iconic locations in the world.”
