The Biden-Harris administration appeared to threaten anyone who might contest the upcoming November election results with prosecution and potential jail time similar to the January 6 defendants during a recent press conference by U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland.

During a press conference on Friday, Garland was asked whether he shared the concerns of prosecutors and judges who have warned that the upcoming transfer of power after the 2024 presidential election could result in “another January 6.” In response, Garland said, “I think our prosecutions have made clear what we think about people who try to interfere with the peaceful transfer of power, which is [an] essential and fundamental element of our democracy.”

Garland explained that the U.S. Justice Department has charged nearly 1,500 individuals over the Capitol Hill protest that took place on January 6, 2021.

“I quibble about whether we have 1500 or slightly less than 1500, but we have way more than 1400 now prosecutions, and we have a substantial number of convictions,” the attorney general added. “I think that’s shown to everybody how seriously we take an effort to interfere with the peaceful transfer of power the last January 6, the coming January 6, and every January 6 after that.”

Garland provided a clear warning to anyone “thinking about interfering” with the upcoming peaceful transition of power, noting that everyone can see how the Justice Department has prosecuted individuals involved in the storming of the Capitol Hill after the controversial 2020 presidential election. Garland added that the Justice Department will “continue to protect our democracy.”

In response to Garland’s apparent threats toward anyone who might consider contesting the results of the 2024 election, journalist Nick Sortor shared a clip from the recent press conference, tweeting, “AG Merrick Garland just THREATENED anyone who may contest the results of the 2024 election, using J6 political prisoners as an example.”

In his post alongside the video of Garland on social media, Sortor described the Biden-Harris administration’s attorney general as the “most corrupt” attorney general in American history.

“He has no shame about it,” Sortor added. “Is the Biden Harris regime going to JAIL anyone that calls out voter fraud??!”
