A viral video appears to show a mysterious figure on the top of a water tower near former President Donald Trump’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, as the assassination attempt against the former president was carried out on Saturday.
On Thursday, political commentator Gunther Eagleman shared a new video on X, formerly Twitter, that appears to show the mysterious figure on the top of a water tower in Butler, Pennsylvania. “New video, emerges of dark figure on top of Butler Water tower..” Eagleman tweeted. “Can anyone explain this?”
A caption on the video added, “Video shows a dark figure on top of the Butler water tower, which many say was the second shooter.”
In the video, Trump can be heard addressing his supporters at the Butler rally before shots were fired and screams erupted from the crowd. At the same time as the shots were being fired toward the former president, the mysterious figure can be seen positioned at the top of the water tower.
In response to the video, one social media user wrote, “There were eye witnesses that claimed to have seen a man on the water tower. There’s way more to this than we are being told and the same people that almost allowed him to be assassinated are now ‘protecting’ him? I don’t know, makes me nervous.”

Another social media user tweeted, “Something I think is interesting is people are ignoring that this kid had a transmitter with them. So, clearly, they weren’t working alone.”
A second video of the water tower was shared on Thursday. In the video, access to the water tower appears to be blocked off with construction cones. A statement accompanying the video said, “The water tower, where the suspected 2nd shooter was located during Trump’s rally, is now blocked off with a police presence.” A man in the video can be heard highlighting the police presence near the blocked-off water tower.
