A viral video shows Hollywood star Jack Black and Tenacious D singer Kyle Gass joking about the assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump that took place at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

The Daily Mail reported that the viral video was recorded at a Tenacious D concert in Sydney, Australia, on Sunday. The video begins with Black, age 54, presenting his fellow band member with a birthday cake and asking him to make a wish. Gass, age 64, responded by wishing, “Don’t miss Trump next time.”

The Daily Mail reported that the majority of the crowd at the Tenacious D concert reacted to Gass’s wish with laughing and cheering and that only a few audience members appeared to be disappointed by the comedy band’s joke.

While the concert audience did not appear to be offended by the joke about the attempted assassination of a U.S. president, many social media users were quick to condemn the exchange between Black and Gass.

Sharing the video of Gass’s wish, Collin Rugg, co-owner of Trending Politics, tweeted, “Maybe, just maybe, these people are actually the evil ones.”

Brandon Morse, senior editor for Red State, wrote, “And with that, any love I had for Jack Black and Tenacious D is gone.”

Charlie Kirk, founder and CEO of Turning Point USA, also released a statement on social media, saying, “These people are more twisted and vile than we realized. And shame on all of the people in the crowd who thought this ‘joke’ was funny.”

Media personality Shawn Farash warned that contrary to Gass’s wish, “there better not be a ‘next time.'” Farash added, “The fact that he thinks there will be is troubling. FBI and Secret Service should pay these two a visit. Sick people.”

The Daily Mail reported that Black spoke at a fundraiser for President Joe Biden last month in Los Angeles, where the president raised over $30 million in his campaign against Trump. According to the outlet, Black claimed that “democracy was at stake” in the 2024 election.
