Former President Donald Trump issued a statement on Monday suggesting multiple reasons behind President Joe Biden’s disastrous debate performance last Thursday.
In a post on Trump Social, Trump said, “Only three things could have been the reason that Crooked Joe Biden, the worst President in the history of the United States, failed so badly at the debate on Thursday night.”
The former president suggested that the first reason Biden “failed” at the debate was that his own performance as the presumptive Republican presidential nominee was “really great.” Trump claimed that political commentators from “both sides of the political spectrum” described his performance as the “greatest single debate performance in the long and storied history of Presidential Debates.”
Trump also suggested that Biden’s debate performance could have been caused by Biden choking “like a dog” or by the president being a “cognitive mess.”

After providing three reasons why Biden could have struggled in Thursday’s presidential debate, Trump posed a question for Americans to consider as the November election approaches.
Trump wrote, “It could be combinations of all three, but ask yourself this question, as a proud citizen of the United States of America (which no longer means a thing, to many, as millions of people flow into our Country, totally unchecked and unvetted!), would you rather have a President who is a CHOKER, or a President who is a COGNITIVE MESS???”
The former president also asked Americans whether his own performance in CNN’s debate contributed to Biden’s “total disembowelment before the world” and suggested that the “Fake Historians over at CNN & MSDNC would like to know” the answer.
Trump’s comments come amid widespread calls by many Democrat leaders and liberal media outlets for Biden to drop out of the 2024 presidential race following last week’s debate performance. Throughout Thursday’s debate, the president appeared to lose his train of thought and freeze multiple times while answering various questions, leading many Americans to question his cognitive abilities.
Following the debate, the editorial board for The New York Times wrote, “At Thursday’s debate, the president needed to convince the American public that he was equal to the formidable demands of the office he is seeking to hold for another term. Voters, however, cannot be expected to ignore what was instead plain to see: Mr. Biden is not the man he was four years ago.”
